10 Ready-to-Post Drafts (SAMPLE / FICTIONAL)

Edit details to match real facts before posting. Numbers in brackets are placeholders. Only post client photos with a signed release.

1. How many hours of coverage do you need? (Nov 2 · LinkedIn + X / IG carousel)

Post: "How many hours do we need?" is the first question on almost every wedding inquiry. A simple guide:

  • 4 hours: ceremony, family photos, couple portraits, a bit of cocktail hour
  • 6 hours: add getting ready and dinner/toasts
  • 8 hours: add the first dance, cake, party, and a sparkler or send-off

The trick: count backward from your sunset time, not forward from your ceremony. In a Seacoast November, sunset is around [4:15 PM].

Save this for when you're comparing packages.

X: Wedding coverage cheat sheet: 4 hrs = ceremony + portraits. 6 = add getting ready + toasts. 8 = the full party. Plan around sunset, not the ceremony.

2. What to wear for fall/winter family photos (Nov 4 · IG/FB carousel)

Slide 1: What to wear for winter family photos Slide 2: Pick 3–4 colors, not matching outfits (think navy, cream, rust, olive) Slide 3: Texture photographs beautifully: knits, corduroy, wool Slide 4: Avoid big logos and neon Slide 5: Layers you can remove — coats come off for a few shots Slide 6: Comfortable shoes for sand and rocks Slide 7: Lay everything out on the bed and snap a photo. Send it to me, I'm happy to help.

Caption: Save this before your session. 🧥

3. Timeline around golden hour (Nov 8 · LinkedIn + X)

LinkedIn: The single biggest thing that improves wedding photos isn't gear. It's the timeline.

My rule: schedule 20–30 minutes of couple portraits in the hour before sunset. Even if it means stepping out of cocktail hour.

On the Seacoast that means:

  • June: around [7:45–8:30 PM]
  • October: around [5:30–6:15 PM]
  • December: around [3:30–4:10 PM]

I build every couple's timeline with them about [6] weeks out, working backward from that window.

X: Want better wedding photos? Protect 20 min in the hour before sunset. It beats any lens upgrade.

4. What happens after the shoot (Nov 10 · LinkedIn)

Clients see me for 2 hours. Here's the rest of the work:

  1. Backup to 2 drives + cloud the same night
  2. Cull: [2,000] frames down to [400]
  3. Edit for color and consistency
  4. Sneak peeks within [72 hours]
  5. Full gallery within [4–6 weeks]
  6. Archive for [X] years

That's why "just send all the raw files" isn't how I work — the edit is part of what you're hiring.

5. First look vs. aisle reveal (Nov 15 · LinkedIn + X)

LinkedIn: There's no wrong answer. Honest pros and cons:

First look: more relaxed portraits, all formals done before the ceremony, you get to enjoy cocktail hour. Downside: some couples miss the aisle moment. Aisle reveal: that classic reaction shot. Downside: portraits squeeze into cocktail hour or after dark in winter.

Middle option: a private first touch (back-to-back around a door) and save the look for the aisle.

X: First look or aisle reveal? First look = relaxed portraits + you get cocktail hour. Aisle = the classic reaction. Both are right.

6. When to book your photographer (Nov 18 · X thread)

1/ When should you book your wedding photographer? Short answer: right after the venue. 2/ Seacoast summer and early-fall Saturdays book [12–18] months out. 3/ Fridays, Sundays and off-season (Nov–Apr) usually have more flexibility — and often better rates. 4/ Before booking, ask to see 2 full galleries, not just a highlight reel. 5/ And read the contract: delivery time, backup plan if they're sick, and image usage.

7. Holiday mini sessions (Nov 21 · LinkedIn + IG)

Holiday mini sessions are [date] at [location].

  • [20] minutes, [10] edited images
  • [$X] per family
  • Gallery in [7] days — in time for cards

Tips: come 10 minutes early, bring a snack for little ones, and don't stress if someone cries. Some of my favorite photos happen right after a meltdown.

[Booking link]. [X] spots.

8. Gift idea: session gift cards (Nov 28 · LinkedIn + X)

LinkedIn: Shopping for someone who has everything? A photo session is a gift they'll actually keep.

Gift cards from [$X], good for family, couples, pet or headshot sessions, valid for [12 months].

Popular with: new grandparents, newly engaged friends, parents who are always behind the camera.

[Link] or message me.

X: Gift idea for the parent who's never in the photos: a session gift card. From [$X], valid [12 months].

9. (Bonus) Why I print every client a favorite (repurpose any open slot)

Most of our photos live on phones we'll replace in three years.

That's why every Coastal Lens gallery includes one [8x10] print of the couple's or family's favorite photo. Put it on a wall. Your kids will look at it more than you think.

10. Month recap + 2027 availability (Nov 30 · LinkedIn + X)

LinkedIn: November at Coastal Lens:

  • family sessions
  • holiday mini families
  • galleries delivered

Thank you for trusting me with your people.

2027 wedding dates: I have [X] Saturdays left between June and October. If you're newly engaged over the holidays, message me and I'll send the full guide.

X: 2027 update: [X] summer/fall Saturdays left. Newly engaged? Reply and I'll send my planning guide.
